Boat Cover Installation Guide

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO READ BEFORE USE

Surface Condition

The surface must be clean, completely dry, and free of wax, polish, sealant, or chemical residue before installation. Installing on a wet or recently treated surface may cause staining or damage. The manufacturer is not responsible for damage due to improper installation or surface condition.

Trailering

While trailering the boat with the cover installed, maintain a moderate speed and avoid exceeding 55 mph (90 km/h) to minimize wind lift and stress on the cover. Make sure the boat cover is fully secured using the side ratchet system, remove any excess slack, and stop periodically to check for movement or flapping to prevent wear, shifting, or damage during transport.

Freezing Conditions

If the cover freezes to the car, DO NOT pull it off. Pour warm water over the surface and remove slowly. Stop immediately if resistance occurs.

Installation

All Seal Skin Boat Covers are rolled and packaged with the bow (front) end to the outside. The “FRONT” tag is sewn into the inside hem of the cover.

Step 1

Place the cover on the front of your boat. Align the label marked “FRONT” with the bow.

Step 2

Unroll the cover toward the stern, ensuring it drapes evenly on both sides until it fully covers the boat.

Step 3

Adjust the elastic hem around the perimeter so the cover fits snugly and evenly.

TIP | If using support poles, position them before tightening. Use soft padding to protect sharp or raised areas such as windshields or motors.

SPECIAL BOAT TYPES

T-Top Boats

Designed to cover the entire boat and outboard engine. Features side zippers for easy access and a Velcro slit on top to accommodate antennas, outriggers, and rocket launchers.

INSTALLATION TIP | After unrolling, align the top opening around antennas or hardware and securely fasten all zippers and Velcro closures.

Tower Boats (Wakeboard / Ski Boats)

Includes integrated Velcro-sealed slits that wrap securely around tower supports, allowing full coverage without removing the tower.

INSTALLATION TIP | Secure the bow first, unroll toward the stern, then open the slits to wrap around tower supports. Reseal firmly for a snug, weather-tight fit.

HOW TO USE STRAPS

Most Seal Skin Boat Covers include 6–12 straps to secure the cover to your trailer or lift.

Note: Kayak and Inflatable boat covers do not use straps.

Step 1

Slide the buckle end of the strap through the loop located on the bottom edge of the cover. Adjust the strap so there's enough length to work with.

Step 2

Bring the male and female buckle ends together and snap them securely until you hear a click. This connection will hold the strap in place.

Step 3

Wrap the loose end of the strap under or around a solid part of your trailer. Then pull it tight using the adjustable end, ensuring the cover is snug and does not sag or shift during transport.

USING THE ROPE RATCHET

Covers with a built-in drawcord hem include a rope ratchet for a snug, secure fit.

Important: Don’t trim too much excess from the loose end of the rope as it will be needed to loosen the cover.

Step 1

Untie one end of the rope.

Step 2

Follow the arrow and feed the rope through the side. Loop it around the gear inside.

Step 3

Exit the rope through the side again.

Step 4

Attach the ratchet’s hook to the knotted end of the rope to create a secure loop. Pull the loose end of the rope until the cover hugs tightly.
