RV Cover Installation Guide
IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO READ BEFORE USE
Surface Condition
The surface must be clean, completely dry, and free of wax, polish, sealant, or chemical residue before installation. Installing on a wet or recently treated surface may cause staining or damage. The manufacturer is not responsible for damage due to improper installation or surface condition.
High Wind Areas
Use the straps and buckle clips, system beneath your RV, to properly secure the cover. Make sure it is tight and does not move or get blown around, adjusting as needed.
Freezing Conditions
If the cover freezes to the RV, DO NOT pull it off. Pour warm water over the surface and remove slowly. Stop immediately if resistance occurs.
Safety
Do not run the RV engine while the cover is on. For safety, installation and removal should be done by two people. Never install the cover on a windy day or when the roof is slippery. Use extreme caution when on a ladder or roof, and ensure your helper does not pull the cover while you are on top of the RV.
Installation
All Seal Skin RV Covers are rolled and packaged with the front end facing outward. The “FRONT” tag is sewn into the inside hem of the cover.
Step 1
Unroll the RV cover next to your RV and unwind all straps and buckles. Turn the cover inside out on the ground and loosely roll it so that the FRONT tag is the last part visible.
Step 2
Hold the FRONT tag and climb the ladder to the roof. Pull the cover up onto the roof as if you are lifting a fire hose, then walk it toward the front of the RV. Gently toss the front portion of the cover toward the ground
Step 3
Tighten all straps until the cover is snug. Finally, zip up the side panels and ensure that the cover does not touch the ground to prevent moisture wicking.
Rope Tie Down
For added security, your Seal Skin RV Cover includes a rope tie down system designed to help deter theft and keep the cover securely in place during windy conditions.
- Find the long tie-down strap positioned in the middle section of the cover. It is usually rolled up and secured with velcro. Unroll it completely so it hangs evenly on both sides of the RV.
- Guide the strap underneath the RV from one side to the other so it wraps fully around the vehicle’s width. Make sure the strap lies flat and is not twisted.
- Connect the strap ends together and pull to tighten using the adjustable buckle system. Tighten until snug to prevent wind lift, but do not overtighten. Secure any excess strap neatly.
Note | All RVs come with 12m strap, that should be secured on the rope tie down.
